South West Notts District Scout Council

South West Notts. District has a total of thirteen Scout Groups within its operational area of Beeston, Chilwell, Attenborough, Toton, Stapleford, Trowell and, of course, Bramcote where we have just the one Scout Group, 2nd Bramcote Scout Group. The Group is a very active one and is well supported. The Group details are: –

Meeting Times:
Beaver Scouts – Meet on Tuesday between 6:15 – 7:15
Cub Scouts (Panthers) – Meet on Monday between 6:45 – 8:15
Cub Scouts (Cougars) – Meet on Thursday between 6:45 – 8:15
Scouts – Meet on Friday between 7:00 – 9:00

There is also an Explorer Scout Unit (Pursuit) that meets at the Headquarters, usually on a Wednesday between 7.30 – 9:00

Additional Information
This is the Districts’ Centenary year and amongst other celebratery events will be a `Fun Day’ for the Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Leaders that will take place at Hemlock Campsite, Bramcote on Saturday 16th April (this is a closed event not open to the general public). We are being well supported by local bodies including the Fire Service, Army, Police and representatives of nthe Air Ambulance Service.  There will be loads of activities for the youngster to have a go at. The event, which will be attended by the Mayor of Broxtowe, Pat Lally and his wife Linda, will allow the Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Leaders opportunity to renrew their Scout Promise; something that would usually be undertaken during our St George’s Day Parade/Service.

Girl Guiding UK

Girl Guiding Hemlock covers the Bramcote area:
1st Bramcote Rainbows for girls aged 5 – 7 this unit meets on a Thursday at Hanley Avenue, Bramcote 5.30 – 6.30.
2nd Bramcote Brownies for girls aged 7 – 10 this unit meets on a Wednesday at Hanley Avenue, Bramcote 5.45 – 7.15.
3rd Bramcote Brownies this unit meets on a Monday at Welch Avenue Scout Hut, Stapleford 6.00 – 7.15.
1st Bramcote Guides for girls 10 – 14 this unit meets at Bramcote Hills Primary school, Moor Lane, Bramcote on a Thursday 7.00 – 8.30.

Hemlock District also covers Stapleford and Trowell which have a further 2 Rainbow units, 4 Brownie packs, 2 Guide units and a senior section unit for girls aged 14 – 18 that Girls can attend if they so wish.

Adult volunteers are also welcome to help with the units.
