Homelessness happens to ordinary people!

It can be devastating to the lives of those who experience it. There are long-term consequences beyond housing: physical and mental health, financial stability, education, employment and self-esteem are all affected. Broxtowe Youth Homelessness is a local charity based on Church Walk in Stapleford. We have been working for 34 years to prevent homelessness and support homeless young people.

We provide practical and emotional support to 16-25 year olds who are at risk of homelessness or have been homeless – offering the help they need to rebuild their lives.
Everyone has a different story – we offer the support needed by each individual. This might be providing clothing, food and toiletries, helping them settle into their first home, giving advice and making referrals, helping them gain qualifications through our training programme, or simply by being a friendly face to turn to in times of need.

Many of our young people choose to ‘give back’ to the community by sharing their stories in workshops in local schools. By raising awareness in other young people, they hope to prevent someone else from experiencing homelessness.

Do you want to ‘give back’?

We are always looking for donations to keep our food, toiletries and clothing bank topped up and to provide much needed drinks and snacks to young people attending our drop-in centre.
