Can we reduce the use of plastic ?

Our oceans are choking in plastic.  The amount of plastic littering our beaches is rising.   That means more plastic bottles, straws, cups, lids, and cutlery are covering our beautiful coastlines.

Right now the government’s weighing up a small tax on all ‘throwaway plastics’ to try to stem the flow.   It’d mean that when you buy a takeaway coffee there’ll be a small charge for a throwaway cup. It’s worked for plastic bags, but it’s time to go one step further.

The Telegraph: Plastic cutlery blighting Britain’s beaches as pollution rises 10 per cent:
The Guardian: David Attenborough urges action on plastics after filming Blue Planet II:

We could influence Government by signing a petition at 38 Degrees.

We also need to educate our population.  We should not throw away all this plastic if we use it we should dispose of it in recycling bins.
