Carpenter Court safety visit 1 LRThe UK’s leading retirement developer, McCarthy and Stone, recently welcomed a team of children and the Councillor for Stapleford North, Richard MacRae, to the site of its forthcoming Retirement Living development, Carpenter Court.

Councillor Richard MacRae and the children donned hard hats and hi vis jackets to take a look around the site, where construction is now well under way.

Accompanied by John Causer, Stapleford Construction Site Manager, the children, aged between ten and twelve, were taken on a tour of the exciting new site with Councillor Richard MacRae and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of the diggers and cranes close up.

McCarthy and Stone organised the visit as a practical and fun way of engaging with a younger audience to reinforce the importance of being safe on a construction site and to promote all that is positive about the construction and housebuilding industry.

Councillor Richard MacRae, comments: “The children all had a fantastic day with the McCarthy and Stone team and they loved seeing the diggers in action. We’re really grateful to the Site Manager, John Causer, for inviting us to come down and to all the team for giving up their time. We found it really enjoyable and informative, particularly in reinforcing the message about the dangers of playing on building sites.”

Carpenter Court will welcome its first homeowners in February 2018 and, when complete, will comprise a stylish collection of 48 one and two bedroom luxury apartments for the over 60s.

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living developments are thoughtfully-designed exclusively for the over 60s to provide the very best in modern, independent living within a safe and secure environment.
Facilities at Carpenter Court will include a stunning homeowners’ lounge ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped gardens, an on-site car park, and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. Carpenter Court will also benefit from its very own House Manager, who will take care of the smooth-running day-to-day running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.

Cheryl Bissett, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone East Midlands, comments: “At McCarthy and Stone, health and safety is always at the forefront of all our minds. A number of the children live near the site, and it is vital that they understand how to play safely in the community. It was wonderful to be able to welcome the group to Carpenter Court to take a look at the machinery and show them how great it is to work on a construction site – perhaps it will even act as an incentive for some of them to consider construction as a career when they’re older!”

With apartments being quickly reserved, the award-winning housebuilder is now urging discerning retirees who are interested in downsizing in Stapleford to reserve without delay, or risk disappointment. Prices start from £152,950 for a one bedroom apartment and £199,950 for a two bedroom apartment.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 12 years’ running. McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade, which is every year the awards have been run.
McCarthy and Stone has opened an office at the Novotel Hotel on Bostocks Lane in Long Eaton offering appointments for those interested in Retirement Living at Carpenter Court in Stapleford. Now open Tuesday – Saturday 10.30am – 5pm. For more information please 0800 310 0384 or visit http://www.mccarthyandstone.co.uk/carpentercourt.
