Councillor Martin Plackett reports:
I have this morning just viewed the Sherwin Island from the Bridge.
Whilst central reservation grass cutting and traffic management has been in place on the A 52, Broxtowe Borough Council Environment Team have for two nights worked to ‘tidy up’ the Island. The Team have done a first class job and are to be congratulated for a great effort!
Highways England have also cut the central reservations very well too, leaving the near sides up to Bardills Island to be hopefully cut very soon.
I am continuing to press Highways England to thoroughly clean the ‘filthy’ Bridge at the earliest opportunity, and to this end I have again e-mailed the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Asset Manager once again this morning.
