For the latest local crime statistics and community policing updates, please read the June minutes. The top three priorities were set as:

1. Vehicle Nuisance Speeding (minor roads – Toton Lane & Church St, Stapleford.
Town St, Bramcote.
2. Drug misuse / supply – leads to many crimes.
3. Vehicle Nuisance (off road motorbikes / mini motos) – Likely to become
problematic over the summer, as previous years.

Suggestions and potential solutions around inconsiderate parking were discussed in detail.

  1. Sue Sambells says:

Update regarding suggestions 2 and 3 under the discussion about inconsiderate parking:
I sent an update to the residents on Russley, Valmont & Rufford outlining PCSO Freeman’s suggestions and gave a link to an appropriate notice to offer a consistent approach. https://www.nottswatch.co.uk/images/site_images/15867_Parking.pdf
Cllr Plackett has passed me Rt Hon Theresa May’s reply of 5 July to our MP, Rt Hon Anna Soubry’s letter regarding enforcement powers. Mrs May confirmed the Policing and Crime bill, which was, at the time of writing, before Parliament, gives PCSOs the same powers as PCs.
Additionally, as the Department for Transport is aware of the many demands on the police’s time, they have decided to decriminalise parking offences by introducing Civil Parking Enforcement powers for local traffic authorities.
