Queens Road, Beeston, to Close for a Week for Essential Work

Queens Road in Beeston is to close for a week next month while essential sewer repairs works are carried out.

The Severn Trent works mean that the road will be closed from Tuesday, April 7, for seven days.

The closure will be between Lower Regent Street and Mona Road with through traffic diverted via the B6003 (Toton Lane), the A52 (Derby Road / Brian Clough Way) and the A6464 (Woodside Road) in both directions.

Local diversions will also be in place

The works have been deferred for several months to avoid conflict with tram construction work but the nature of the repairs needed is such that the work cannot be done without excavation of the carriageway to such a depth that the road has to be closed to traffic.

Strategic and local diversion routes will be clear of tram work and the timing of the repairs makes use of the school holiday period immediately following the Easter bank holidays when traffic is normally lighter.
