Broxtowe residents are being reminded to renew their garden waste subscription for 2015/16 to make sure they continue to be part of the recycling generation.
Broxtowe Borough Council will deliver information on the garden waste subscription service for 2015/16 to every household in the Borough over the coming weeks and now is the ideal time for residents to renew their subscription or sign up for the service.
Thanks to the fantastic response from its green residents the introduction of service charges for the garden waste collection scheme has been an unprecedented success with over 4,000 tonnes of green waste collected and composted since March 2014.
The Council’s garden waste subscription offers many benefits for residents including fortnightly collections all year round, a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative for garden waste disposal and it avoids costly, time consuming visits to local Household Waste and Recycling sites.
Subscription for 2015/16 (1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016) is £20 service charge, plus £10.00 for each brown-lidded bin.
Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Greg Marshall said: “The Council would like to thank all our residents for their support in last year’s garden waste collection scheme and we are delighted that so many are committed to being green.
“Over 17,500 residents have been using this service and it’s now very easy to pay for your garden waste bin online at for a quick and efficient service. Simply visit www.broxtowe.gov.uk/gardenwasteform.”
