Set up in May 2014, Beeston Cycle Centre runs on a Wednesday and Saturday from Hetley Pearson Pavilion on Queens Road West. Wednesdays are led by well-respected instructor Adrian Juffs, who has been running rides in the area for many years and delivers cycle maintenance courses. As well as beginners and on-road cycle training, there is a short, gentle ride for those who want to take things step-by-step, and a longer ride for those who fancy riding a bit further afield. No-one gets left behind and the ride goes at the pace of the group. As one of the regulars said “I enjoy the rides because it keeps me fit. The leader (Adrian) is good fun, knowledgeable and takes us on interesting rides. He also gives us lots of information which is relevant to our cycling, and the rest of the group gel well and help each other out.”
Saturday sessions are run by popular local instructor, Paul Gregg, who as well as being a cycle instructor, also works as a Dr Bike carrying out basic maintenance on bikes a and delivers fun family cycle training.
Experienced cycle instructor Debby Sherwin leads sessions on Saturday mornings from Hickings Lane Recreation Ground in Stapleford, covering adult and family training and a led ride.
