Below is the full text of an email the editors have received from Jinder Mahal in connection with the convenience store on Ewe Lamb Lane. I have published it to reinforce the message that Bramcote Today is here to help our readers raise issues that concern them, to facilitate discussion and to help bring the matters to a satisfactory conclusion. I hope that the store proves to be a useful, trouble free addition to community shopping. Jinder Mahal writes:
I just wanted to say thanks for all your support during the initial problem period when we were trying to arrange the set up of the shop.
As you’re probably aware, we got the licence anyway but I’m still glad I took your advice and got involved with the local community as it gave me a chance to put the facts out there and win support. I probably would have shied away from attending the residents association meeting but after the initial grilling I received, it turned out really well in the end with locals asking whether we’d stock certain products for them etc.
Anyway, I promised to let you know when the shop would be opening. It’s the 2nd March and we are hoping to have several companies such as Barr, Cadburys, Coca Cola and the Nottingham Evening Post supporting us on the day.
If you would like to get involved in any way, please let me know.
Once again, thank you for all your kind support and advice.
